Tweetvalue: 5 tips to help you improve the value of your tweets
Yesterday I came across a site called tweetvalue.com that give you your tweetvalue. It reminded me that I have often said that you must offer value on twitter but I have never really gone into it. Here are the 5 ways you can offer value on twitter:
Answer: When I log into my twitter I look out for any questions my followers are asking. If I have an answer I will give them an an @reply. They might @reply with a thank you which puts my profile in front of more people. It also reminds that person that I am of value. I took the time to answer their question and offer them advice
@Replies: Use @replies to build relationships and get closer to your followers. By replying to followers you can actively engage in the conversation. A lot of people talk on twitter but they don’t engage. By engaging and contributing to the conversation people will notice your interaction and recognise you as a valuable tweeter.
News: Be on top of your niche by being rss savvy and on top of twitter trends.Use bloglines or Google’s rss reader. Breaking news offers value to your followers. If your followers recognise you as someone who breaks news they will be more inclined to take notice of what you say.

Links: Share links to sites that further offer value to your followers. Ask your self; Would my followers like to read this? If the answer is yes then tweet about it. When I find someone who offers quality links I begin to take more notice of what they say becuase I know they offer me valuable information.
Retweets: Share some tweets you found useful through retweet. This shares information you deem useful to your followers and gives recognition to those who tweeted it orginally by endsuring that @username is placed before the tweet. People enjoy being retweeted and they may return the favour!
Be generous. Using twitter as a place to promote yourself does not offer real value. You need to recognise other people’s work, share it and then consider promoting your site.
